Marc is well versed in this particularly deadly Indonesian Art as he is a certified instructor under the late great Pak Herman Suwanda .
Marc’s immutable style of teaching was well received and he clearly convinced every participant without exception as to the effectiveness of this intriguing and eclectic style of martial art.
Saturday’s workshop began with exploring entry techniques against punching and developed into a series of techniques including locking (from the Rikasan system) and takedowns to finishes. Marc took concepts from primary styles within the art including Chimande, Chikalong and Subunda. Students were introduced to the primary theme from Hari Mau (Tiger Style) and shown how to literally hunt the legs in order to take an opponent down to the ground.
On Sunday these themes were developed as well as the sweeps, throws and unbalancing techniques from Sera. Lock flow was explored including the extremely painful Bundok “Bone Biting” techniques & “TokTok” pressure point manipulations. To know really is to feel…
The seminar was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn from a (in) famous Instructor of Global recognition & we all look forward to seeing Guro Marc back in the not to distant future.
